My brother loves technology and when I saw him this weekend he was going on and on about this new polycom soundstation that his office had installed. He was really interested in the way that it all worked and how technically advanced he thought that it was. I am afraid that I do tend to switch off a bit when he goes on like this and actually find it funny when he gets so enthusiastic about the Avaya IP office phones. I guess to me work is just a means of getting money I do not enjoy my job that much and therefore do not get that involved in that sort of thing. I do not care if they have new plantronics wireless headsets I just concentrate on doing what I am paid to do and getting out of there as quickly as I can! I know this isn’t the best attitude but hopefully I will be able to give up my job soon and start a family so I am not that concerned about my career and making a good impression on the company. I do work hard, partly because it passes the time more quickly and partly because I do feel that I should earn what I am paid but I am not interested in going above and beyond the call of duty.
