It is funny how much of a difference the bracelet of a watch can make to the look of it. I think that a leather bracelet looks a lot more elegant and nicer than any other type. Perhaps because I associate a metal strap with those digital watches that were so popular in the eighties and I am sure there are nice watches with a watch band that is not made of leather. I think that leather is really nice though as it smells nice for a start! It is also much easier to alter than a metal one so if your size changes you can just do it up a notch or down a notch. I do find that some people have difficulties with putting on a leather strap - I know that my husband does as he is not used to having a leather wrist band but rather one that slips over the hand and is then tightened. He will get used it though, I am sure and I think he looks all the better for having a watch with a really nice strap rather than one which is chunky and scratchy and tends to rub on things and get scratched and nasty. It also means that he does not have to take his watch off.
